About us

Hi, I'm Sara Lozano Zahonero (PhD in Biomedical Engineering)

A few years ago I went through a really difficult period. Stress, nerves and a kind of bodily restlessness I couldn't quite explain were part of my daily life for months. I tried many things, but the only tool that brought me back to balance in just a few minutes was slowing down my breathing. Not by following an arbitrary rhythm dictated by an app, but by responding to how my body was actually breathing in that moment.

As a biomedical engineer with over twenty years of research in physiological signals, I decided to build what I couldn't find: a tool that would measure my actual breathing and guide me toward a slow diaphragmatic pattern, adapting to me rather than the other way around.

That's panicPROTECTOR. An app that brings mindful breathing within reach of anyone, the moment they need it.

Our motto is:

EXHALE ANXIETY. INHALE CALM.

Hi, I'm Sybille Donneberg (Doctor of Psychiatry and Neurology).

I have practised as a psychiatrist and neurologist at the Hospital of Emmendingen, in Germany, for more than fifteen years. In my daily clinical work I see how stress, nerves and the difficulty of regulating one's own body affect people's wellbeing.

At panicPROTECTOR I oversee that the breathing techniques implemented in the app are faithful to the available scientific evidence on breathing, the autonomic nervous system and emotional regulation.

Mindful breathing techniques do not replace professional mental health care, but they are an accessible and useful complement for managing emotional wellbeing in everyday life

Our motto is:

EXHALE ANXIETY. INHALE CALM.
